🧠 IBM Offers Free AI Courses for Developers

IBM has launched a page dedicated to teaching AI skills, offering free educational resources on generative AI. The page includes tutorials for watsonx, IBM’s new enterprise generative AI platform. Developers can access tips on prompt engineering, creating voice assistants, and developing chatbots. In addition, IBM is providing courses and content on popular open-source tools and platforms such as Hugging Face, PyTorch, and KubeFlow. The company aims to equip developers with the necessary knowledge and skills to leverage AI technology effectively.

🍎 Apple Looks to Strengthen AI for Mobile Devices

Apple is reportedly beefing up the generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of its mobile devices.

To that end, the company has begun hiring for dozens of roles to work on large language models (LLMs), the Financial Times reported Sunday (Aug. 6).

The job postings say the tech giant is embarked on “ambitious long-term research projects that will impact the future of Apple, and our products.” The report notes that the lists suggest Apple is focused on bringing technologies like LLMs specifically to mobile, whereas competitors like Google have released AI products like chatbots.

💰 Stay Ai Raises $15.1M in Series A Funding

Stay Ai, a NYC-based customer loyalty operating system for Shopify brands, raised a $15.1m Series A funding.

The funding consisted of an $8.6m investment led by Telescope Partners, with participation from Boulder Food Group, Riverpark Ventures, and Vanterra Capital. Previous investments total $7.5m led by Watchfire Ventures, alongside industry leaders such as Nik Sharma (Sharma Brands) and Adam Turner (Postscript).

The company intends to use the funds to expand its product-centric 50+ team, and support the acquisition strategy.
